We are keeping the momentum going for the Tennessee Nonprofit Conference in Franklin. After announcing that Diane Yentel, President and CEO of the National Council of Nonprofits, will kick off our event on September 29, we are ecstatic to reveal our keynote speaker for day two: the incomparable best-selling author and national speaker Tamsen Webster.
Tamsen is a true force in the world of persuasive communication. Part message designer, part English-to-English translator, she specializes in helping leaders craft the case for large-scale change. With over 25 years of experience, she has mastered the principles and processes that build buy-in that lasts.
From TEDx to the Thinkers50 Radar
Tamsen’s resume reads like a roadmap of innovation and influence. She has worked with world-class institutions including Harvard Medical School, Fidelity Investments, and Databox. Beyond her consulting work, she serves as a judge and mentor for the Harvard Innovation Labs and a professional advisor at the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship.

For over a decade, she served as the Idea Strategist for one of only nine legacy-level TEDx events in the world. Her impact was further recognized in 2022 when she was named to the prestigious Thinkers50 Radar. She is also the author of two best-selling books: Find Your Red Thread: Make Your Big Ideas Irresistible and Say What They Can’t Unhear: The 9 Principles of Lasting Change. The latter was recently named one of the top 10 management books of the year by the Globe and Mail and one of six books to transform how you lead and communicate by Forbes.
Lessons from the Ballroom and the Boardroom
What makes Tamsen truly unique is the diverse background she brings to the stage. She was a reluctant marathoner—twice—and is a self-proclaimed champion ballroom dancer (at least in her mind). Interestingly, she credits her deep understanding of messages, people, and change to her time as a Weight Watchers leader.
When she isn’t helping global leaders find their “Red Thread,” she lives in Boston with her husband, two sons, and her two brindle Greyhounds, Hazel and Walnut.
