SHAPE THE FUTURE OF TENNESSEE’S NONPROFITS! LEVERAGE YOUR EXPERTISE AND CONNECTIONS TO GUIDE THE TENNESSEE NONPROFIT NETWORK’S STRATEGY AND MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY.
As Tennessee’s first statewide nonprofit association, Tennessee Nonprofit Network provides essential resources, research, training, and public policy support to empower nonprofits of all sizes. Now, to further strengthen our reach and impact, we’re excited to announce recruitment for the second year of our regional Community Action Councils (CACs)! Deadline to apply is May 1, 2025. See below to download the job description and application. This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity.
What is a CAC?
Think of a CAC as a group of passionate individuals – like you, perhaps! – who act as champions for TNN in their communities. These dedicated volunteers come from diverse backgrounds and share a common goal: to see Tennessee’s nonprofit sector thrive.
I enjoy being on the CAC because it provides a great opportunity to network with other nonprofit leaders in my region, engage in dialogue about emerging issues in the sector within Tennessee and beyond, and represent my community and constituents within the context of a larger statewide organization. – Mark Cruise, STRONG Accountable Care Community
What do CAC members do?
CAC members are the heart and soul of our regional support system. They leverage their expertise, connections, and philanthropic spirit to fuel TNN’s mission in several key ways:
- Advocacy: CAC members become vocal champions for TNN and the broader nonprofit sector within their communities. This could involve raising awareness of TNN’s resources, speaking at events, or engaging with local policymakers.
- Connecting the Dots: CAC members act as bridges, connecting TNN with potential members, funders, and other influential figures in their networks. This opens doors for collaboration, expands our reach, and strengthens the overall nonprofit ecosystem.
- Strategic Insight: CAC members offer valuable feedback on TNN’s plans and initiatives. Their diverse perspectives help ensure our programs and services remain relevant and impactful for nonprofits across the state.
- Fundraising Champions (Optional): While not mandatory, some CAC members choose to directly support TNN’s fundraising efforts. This can involve participating in events, making personal contributions, or leveraging their networks to attract new donors.
- Volunteer Power: CAC members can lend their time and talent to volunteer opportunities, such as assisting with events or promoting TNN initiatives.
Having a statewide philanthropic hub like TNN is vitally important, and it’s been inspiring to work alongside such thoughtful, passionate leaders from every corner of Tennessee. Serving on the CAC consistently reminds me of the power of collaboration and the importance of lifting voices from all across the state. – Joshua Ireland, Jefferson Bridge Capital
Why Join a CAC?
Beyond the immense satisfaction of giving back to the nonprofit community, CAC membership offers several benefits:
- Make a Real Difference: Become a driving force behind a stronger, more effective Tennessee nonprofit sector.
- Network with Passionate Leaders: Connect with like-minded individuals who share your commitment to social good.
- Gain Valuable Insights: Stay informed about the latest trends and challenges facing Tennessee nonprofits.
