Being accredited demonstrates that Tennessee Nonprofit Network has met all the rigorous requirements that are included in the Standards for Excellence®. Tennessee Nonprofit Network went through a rigorous three-part application process, including a review by Standards for Excellence Institute® staff, a second review from an experienced team of peer reviewers, and a third and final review by the national Standards for Excellence® Council, which comprises professionals with extensive nonprofit experience, and specialized expertise in areas such as legal, finance, or human resources.

The Standards for Excellence Institute® is an operating division of Maryland Nonprofits that serves nonprofits throughout the nation. The Institute is dedicated to promoting the highest standards of ethics and accountability in nonprofit governance, management, and operations. It has a dozen state, regional and national partner organizations, and is supported by 266 Licensed Consultants and 100 volunteers with professional experience in nonprofit governance and administration.
